A bloggers event held at the Shareton Hotel Karachi on the 12th of December marked the official launch of Nokia N9 in Pakistan. The exclusive event was attended by bloggers in Karachi as well as from other cities of Pakistan. The phone is available in Black, Cyan and Magenta colors and will be available from all Nokia distributors in Pakistan for the price of 52,000Rs for the 16GB version.
Nokia N9 is a first of its kind smartphone that comes with the Meego Harmatten OS. The phone’s unique features include the absence of any physical buttons (except power/volume) and the swipe gestures through out the OS. To move between the three home screens, simply swipe from the edge of the screen. Swiping from within the apps will take you back to the home screen. N9 also offers fantastic multitasking with the available 1GB of RAM. This ensures you can run as many as 30 applications or more in the background live.
Nokia didn’t stop there. N9 is the first phone that is built using a monobody polycarbonate. The body is precision-machined which translates into a seamless transition from the screen to the body. The front consists entirely of a beautiful Clear Black AMOLED screen which measures at 3.9″ with the resolution of 480×854. This results in deep blacks and vivid colors.

Introducing a simple swipe gesture, Nokia N9 is a stunning blend of design and the latest in
smartphone technology
Karachi – 12th December 2011: Nokia recently hosted an exclusive preview of the Nokia N9, built for
people who appreciate a stunning blend of design and the latest smartphone technology. The event
was held at a local hotel and gathered top-notch technology enthusiasts from across Pakistan.
The Nokia N9 introduces an innovative new design where the home key is replaced by a simple
gesture: a swipe. Whenever you’re in an application, swiping from the edge of the display takes
you home. The three home views of the user interface are designed to give fast access to the most
important things people do with a phone: using apps, staying up to date with notifications and social
networks, and switching between activities.
The industrial design of the Nokia N9 is an example of extreme product making and craft. The body
is precision-machined from a single piece of polycarbonate and flows seamlessly into beautiful
curved glass. The laminated deep black display means that the user interface just floats on the
surface of the product.
“With the Nokia N9, we wanted to design a better way to use a phone. To do this we innovated in the
design of the hardware and software together. We reinvented the home key with a simple gesture:
a swipe from the edge of the screen. The experience sets a new bar for how natural technology
can feel,” said Henri Mattila, Solution Marketing Manager, Middle East & Africa (MEA), Nokia. “And
this is just the beginning. The details that make the Nokia N9 unique – the industrial design, the all-
screen user experience, and the expressive Qt framework for developers – will evolve in future Nokia
products.”
The Nokia N9 also packs the latest in camera, navigation and audio technology for a great all-
round experience. With no need for a home key, the all-screen Nokia N9 makes more room for
apps to shine. The 3.9-inch AMOLED screen is made from scratch-resistant curved glass. The
polycarbonate body enables superior antenna performance. This means better reception, better
voice quality and fewer dropped calls.
The 8-megapixel Carl Zeiss autofocus sensor, wide-angle lens, HD-quality video capture and large
lens aperture enable great camera performance even in lowlighting conditions. This makes the Nokia
N9 one of the best camera-phones ever produced.
The Nokia N9 features free turn-by-turn drive and walk navigation with voice guidance in Maps. With
the new dedicated Drive app, you can get in the car and start navigating to your destination right
away when travelling abroad.
You can watch videos in true 16:9 widescreen format. And because the Nokia N9 is also the
world’s first smartphone with Dolby® Digital Plus decoding and Dolby Headphone post-processing
technology, you get a surround sound experience with any set of headphones.
Fitted with the latest in wireless technology, Near Field Communication (NFC), the Nokia N9 allows
you to easily share images and videos between devices by touching them together. Pair it with
Bluetooth accessories like the new NFC-enabled Nokia Play 360° wireless music speaker only once,
and you get a great surround sound music experience with just a tap.

Unbeatable Features Will Make Nokia N9 a Tough Competitor of Apple iPhone 4S, According to Research Conducted by Ontario Based Research Company

Posted by Unknown on 11:40 PM 0 comments

Nokia N9 is the latest release from Nokia that is yet to hit the market in this part of the world. However, millions of mobile users have made it the talk of the town already. A recently conducted research has suggested that this feature packed Smartphone from Nokia is good enough to give stiff competition to Apple iPhone 4S. This research was conducted by Ontario based private market research company named Internet Marketing Services

A recent market research conducted by Internet Marketing Services has indicated that Nokia N9 is going to be a strong competitor of Apple iPhone 4S when it releases globally. The research was conducted considering all the features of the two leading Smartphones in the market. This newly Nokia N9 is not yet available in Canada, and mobile users are eagerly waiting for the Smartphone to arrive with phenomenal features.
The Apple iPhone 4s was released in the Canadian market during the month of October. Market experts are suggesting that comparable features and price will make them close competitors in the Canadian market once Nokia N9 releases in Canada.
"Nokia N9 is undoubtedly the best looking Smartphone that Nokia has released in the last few years" Says Mr.Bonner, "The handset provides amazing durability, thanks to the strong polymer body. The manufacturers have claimed that scratches or dents will not show up because of the scratch resistant polycarbonate casing. Nokia N9 is the first ever fully touch Smartphone that Nokia has manufactured. There is no keypad or button in the front, and the volume and the lock button are on the right side."
"On the other hand, Apple iPhone 4S has mostly retained the looks of iPhone 4. The built quality is great, but the phone is not as good looking as Nokia N9" Says Mr. Bonner. In terms of functionality both the phones are packed with state of the art features that are any mobile user’s dream. It is very difficult to choose between the MeeGo operating system in Nokia N9 and Apple iOS 5 in Apple iPhone 4S.
Both the handsets are equipped with highly advanced 8 Mega pixel cameras with a flurry of features. Apple iPhone 4S holds a slight edge with regards to the pixel density and display resolution. Whereas, Nokia N9 has better feature in terms of its RAM and GPS functionality. Mr. Bonner Says, "Only time will show which one of these two great Smartphones will prove to be the smarter."
